When you have excess skin around your eyelids, it can compromise your youthful appearance, causing you to look perpetually tired or cranky. In some cases, droopy or saggy eyelids can also have a functional effect, limiting your peripheral vision. Through blepharoplasty, our surgeons can address each of these issues, providing a refreshed appearance and a fuller field of vision.
Some of the primary benefits of blepharoplasty include:
During this procedure, your surgeon will make incisions in the natural folds and creases of the eye. This strategic placement allows for minimal visible scarring post-surgery. Once the incisions are made, your surgeon will remove or reposition excess skin and fat deposits that contribute to a tired or aged appearance.
Following eyelid surgery, you will need to take just a few days to rest and recover. Most patients are ready to resume their normal school and work activities within a week, though we recommend abstaining from strenuous exercise for a solid month. While some tenderness can be expected during your blepharoplasty recovery, both prescribed and over-the-counter medications are available to promote your comfort.
